Music & The Spoken Word – Portuguese

Derrick Porter is the executive producer, principal writer, and presenter for the Tabernacle Choir’s “Music & the Spoken Word,” a role to which he was called by the First Presidency in 2024. He succeeded Lloyd Newell, becoming only the fourth voice in the program’s long history. Before this, Porter was the CEO of Beauty Industry Group, leading the company for 18 years as it grew into a global entity managing 13 brands. He holds an MBA from The Ohio State University and a bachelor’s degree from Weber State University.
